Glance back to open-source idea
This morning, I was thinking about who is started the open source software idea and googling it. And then I clicked a link that title named 'Brief history of open source' and i want to add my thoughts on these history. The concept creator of free software is Richard M.Stallman,a programmer at MIT's artificial intelligence lab. He grew up with computer in 1960s and 1970s.In this time, the computer users have the ability and right to modify or write the software on his or her computer (mainframe computers) and freely share to others. As computer cheaper and more numerous in late 1970s, producers and companies should act a copyrightable and form of intellectual as music CDs, book's text and films. When these things happen, Richard M.Stallman concern with computer users' ability to be good neighbors and members of what he thought was an ethical and efficient computer-user community. He named this vision-community that developed liberated code:"free software". He defined it into freedom 0 to 3.I just rephrasing this history into more brief. Every real things start from sparkling thoughts of ours' mind. Just need to feel that! Why we didn't know the value of open source movement? The following lines might be explain why.
Why we are not open-source fans?
In my country, we (students, learners and every one who knows about IT,
including me) haven't known too much about open-source movement.
(I means we know what this term mean but we don't understand it.)So, Why? we don't feel and know the meaning and value of Open source. We got every resource we need almost cost free. What ya want? OS? Applications? Gaming software? you can buy every kind of these resources around 1$.Every computer runs unregistered Microsoft Windows XXX version. No one use Mac OS because we can't afford apple branded-PC and every software need to paid. Want a computer, go to the sale center and buy a cloned PC. Pay some installation cost, the sale center add on free Windows and other popular software (95% of them are for Microsoft OS). Whatever, Cool!! If ya require more software than they installed, don't worry. Every kinds of software can get with lower costs. Aha! Don't need to think about license aggrement, serial numbers and every protected stuffs. Sometimes, I burn another copy for my friend. We all are god-damn pirates. In this situation, thinking about open-source software is a little geeky and most of us haven't considered about it. I know it's not the absolute point we don't know open-source initiative. Many other points also exist like the weakness of our education system and lack of strong technical inspiration and inadequate access problems.
Free (beer) or Free(speech)
First time, I heard these words:"free software", "open-source"...I thought that"..Can’t too good. It's free things. May be like free (beer)". After dig up and contribute about open-source, I haven't known that "It ain't free beer. It's free like the word in "free speech". May be it's funny!!but it's real. The advantages of open source is simple, I thought: You own the code, It's free and you are free (free to change the code, free to add new features, free to have anyone come in and do these things for you. )
On the other view, drawbacks are existed. No guarantee it's stable or not. To run up everything properly for an (professional) end-user, it needs time and skills to develop, modify and use. There are many "Hows" to know. The number and variety of application programs are not yet as large as those available for the Microsoft Windows operating systems. Recently, I install Ubuntu 8.10 along with MS XP and facing many problems to solve. Every times, I run to internet café' and googling the solutions .Whatever it bored me, it feels like living in a new home. Every things is new and odds. I'm a open source newbie (also in blogging) and Just drop some lines what I think. May be I'm right or may be not. So, some things you want to make a point, comment me. I'll really appreciate it.

Today,I went to US Embassy(American Center Library) to check out my borrowed-books.After I checked out,I spent some time with today current news. You know,Media of our country is not free like other country. Our Government, militarily junta have been controlled all medias:linear or hyper medias.Fortunately,we can know update and probably right news from this embassy.I don't know why(may be supporting for democracy). So,I always check out current news about my country when I reach this library.Haha!!sound funny, huh!! Most of the news are written by media from other countries and reporters without border.
I want to share about two news i got today. The first one is about the documentary movie named "Burma VJ". I can't wait to watch this documentary movie.I guess this documentary will show the status of our country.
The other one is about the biggest business man plan to form football clubs and compete with their own league.Burmese business man to start their soccer league quoted from San Oo Aung blogs
I can't believe why they invest huge amount of money for this crazy things. We need to develop in many fields(almost every).Forming a football team is not the first priority thing,i believe. With these amount of money, they should run kind of business that can initiate the most important things like such as unmet critical problem ,build up modern infrastructure...Most of the biggest business are related directly or indirectly with militarily regime. Every one knows! For the god of sakeness,The Government totally don't care the voice of mass. So,If you have some thoughts and comments,i'll so glad to hear about that.About Myanmar(Burma):WikiMyanmar , CIA Facfbook and UNODC factfile.

I heard from OLPC News and Forum site that one of a freelance education and training consultant using ICT to support
initiatives in line with Millennium Development Goals for education and
education for sustainable development have been developed and released a new socila web site for OLPC developers and educators. He said that the purpose of this site are (1) To create awareness of OLPC and the XO in an audience unfamiliar with the program
(2) To act as a showcase for OLPC and XO activities, supplementing other internet based sources
(3) To be a place where people can meet and interact with others in almost realistic ways without geographical constraints.
If you wanna contribute in this site, follow this link: This is About OLX and the main page is at OpenLife Xchange.
Frankly,I'm not sure it works properly or not.I'm just informing others to know.If you are not familiar with Virtual world, this short video will show the OLPC life center:

OLPC is to open the capability of children
First of all,I'm not a technical writer.But...i'm an emotional writer plus little tech knowledge. If you are looking specifically for technology about XO,follow the link and don't read it. Just want to save your time.
When i was attending the itu youth forum event at Bangkok,we all got one xo laptop per each participants. I guess, firstly,we all might think what this little computer is. small, inefficient and difficult to manage, this laptop is a little weird i feel. After the main session of our forum, they,ITU members arrange a session about introduction of One Laptop Per Child Project. But I'm not that interested about it.But I'm happy because whatever this laptop is good or bad or useful for me,I got it 'FREE'.And at the next day,one lady and a gent(they are XO experts) gave us a guide about this small laptop.after this teaching session,I can use it as an end-user level plus can tell others how to...It includes many functions and useful applications to touch the technology for children whom live in remote areas and least-developed countries. You can check about this: OLPC Offical site and OLPC information and news.I saw some guys(open source guys and Linux geeks) try to figure out every things about XO.They look very enthusiastic and interested about this.In this point,i want to tell you about the guy from Israel. He is a Linux geek and explain some basic stuffs about Phyton and some-I-don't-know-things about XO. Frankly, I don't know much about open-source technology and strange from Linux environment. Thanks to this guy for lighting up my brain about open source technology. When i came back to my home,I use this Laptop as a e-book reader when the electricity is cut out.(Not a big deal!) And the other time,I put it away to under my study table. But one day, In the middle of reading a comic book,it's freeze and can't shut down. This broking matter make me to feel about XO. To repair this,I surf the net and discuss about it in the forum atOlpc news bogs, news and fourm site .It make me suprise that many technology specialists,XO geeks are a lot of guys than I thought. They think big, idealize and criticize a lot to improve, modify this small laptop to get the best position. Other similar notebook like Asus Android-based-Notebook which cost around 100$.Now,XO geeks are trying to upgrade and modify XO version1 and trial XO version2.Some least-developed countries are started to lauched a triall project
for OLPC inititive to use the computer at schools situated in rural
and remote areas. Now,i can imagine that one day, this project gonna be the biggest dream for children. We all need to support this project as much as we can. Childern are "Lack of opportunity, not capability".Share ur thoughts and ideas to reach the mission of OLPC project.
Comments about 11th hour
u know i rarely watch documentary movies. Why? Simple answer:so boring! But this one is the best documentary movie I've ever watched and every human being should watch,I recommend. This is "the 11th hour" that is produced and narrated by Leonardo DiCaprio. So...what was that movie about? Short way to answer this question is,i think, "relationship between human and nature".In this point, you think "what...human...nature? That's not a big deal." No,it's not that. It's more than that a lot.According to Jeanine Benyus, the author of Biomimicry,She said that"Homosapiens sapiens is an incredibly young species....We came very late in the calendar year of the Earth. The Earth Calendar where it started in January 1 and now we're December 31st.We got here 15 minutes before midnight on December 31st...and all recorded history has blinked by in the last 60 seconds." Now,you can guess why this movie was named "The 11th hour". Dealing with many other environmental topics, this movie might be give you a lot of questions such as "What are we?,What is natural? Does Human kind ever exist in the Earth or Does the Earth exist without us? If the current atmosphere and environment situation change,Can we still live in this planet?, Are we really big customers of the nature?,Does we actually absorb too much on the nature?....There are somemain questions and a lot of follow-up questions provoking

This style of sleeping is good!
Marine Mammals such as dolphins, and whales manage to sleep without drowning, because half their brain sleep while the other half stay awake and handle the breathing and swimming chores.the two hemispheres of their brain work totally independently. For 8 hours, the entire brain si awake. The left side
Useless Knowledge: A whale's penis is called a dork. Know any dorks??
Last night, i read a book and get to bed at 11 p.m, but I'm not fast asleep and my brain is still going around about the book. I try to sleep. It doesn't work. So,i get up and turn on the lamp and pick up perodical written about Politics and economics. These are boring subjects for me;however, i think it can doze me off.I'm reading...reading...when i take a look at the clock,it shown 2:00 a.m. I'm yawning but i can sleep. You think it doesn't strange, but not for me.It's my typical night. I haven't had insomnia. I feel that my body circle is wrong. I can't sleep until 2 or 2:30 am. Don't you think I'm a light sleeper? No!! I'm not. I have a lie-in until 9:30 and sometimes almost 10:00 a.m. When I wake up early, I feel terrible; have got head-ache, isn't wide awake and then I get back to sleep again. If i had a work to do at early morning, I'm exhausted and frustrated. I try to fix my body circle(biologic time) but is still happening to me. I drink coffee every night, but I know it's not the problem. Before these days,I can fast asleep after drinking coffee, or not. I'm a postgraduate student and still learning . I living alone at a apartment. My parents support me to continue study. I read many articles written by sleep scientist. But I can't change my habit and can't fix it up. What should i do?
