OLPC Open life Center lauched!!
I heard from OLPC News and Forum site that one of a freelance education and training consultant using ICT to support
initiatives in line with Millennium Development Goals for education and
education for sustainable development have been developed and released a new socila web site for OLPC developers and educators. He said that the purpose of this site are (1) To create awareness of OLPC and the XO in an audience unfamiliar with the program
(2) To act as a showcase for OLPC and XO activities, supplementing other internet based sources
(3) To be a place where people can meet and interact with others in almost realistic ways without geographical constraints.
If you wanna contribute in this site, follow this link: This is About OLX and the main page is at OpenLife Xchange.
Frankly,I'm not sure it works properly or not.I'm just informing others to know.If you are not familiar with Virtual world, this short video will show the OLPC life center:

Back when I was in the ITU, I spoke to Abrams who was part of the fourm about secondlife. A did pose the problem that most SL worlds are doomed because they are not sustanable (back then openlife and others were not there). He said that they were working on a multiverse system, and since SL viewer (and most importantly server) were releases, now you can really see this hapening (of course the first question has still a way to go before SLX or OLX are a major market :-) ).
I was just recently experimenting with other secondlife-based worlds.
Sadly openlife's client need a specific version of glibc that is not available on debian yet (unless I want to recompile the system). It should be fixed soon.
